HOW MANY DIFFERENT SPARKLING WINES DO YOU KNOW? There’s so much more beyond Champagne, Prosecco, and Cava. The place of origin, the grape varieties or the production method - each of these elements contribute to the unique style and personality of every sparkling wine

My students at Vantaan aikuisopisto recently had the chance to explore that diversity. And to discover just how exciting the world of bubbles can be

Wines tasted👇

🥂 Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc - an enhanced (aka carbonated) version of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, extremely refreshing and easygoing

🥂 Oniric Pet Nat - the oldest style of sparkling wines, now experiencing a revival: fresh, dry, cloudy with a yeasty funky touch nicely balanced by ripe fruit

🥂 André Clouet Blanc de Noirs Champagne - 100% Pinot Noir with ripe citrus, yellow apples, delicate bread, roasted nuts notes and typical “chalky” minerality

🥂 L’Extra Par Langlois Crémant de Loire Langlois, Crémant de Loire - soft but refreshing with yellow apples, apricots, honey and nutty notes
I can’t recommend enough this wine! The estate belongs to Bollinger Champagne House with the same winemaking techniques and care

🥂 Kylie’s Prosecco Rosé - a charming summertime wine, soft and gentle with bright red fruit notes

🥂 Asti Spumanti Marenco - a nice, sweet, low-alcohol wine from Muscat grapes that is usually overlooked. Ripe apricots, grape, and sweet flowers notes, pairs easily with light desserts
